The BBC should go on strike more often

For those of you watching in black and white, it seems that journalists and technicians at the BB of C have been on strike today.

So, instead of Radio 4’s "flagship" current affairs programme Today as breakfast listening, I got Kenneth Clarke discussing Dizzy Gillespie and an old episode of "Just a Minute". This is far more pleasant a way to get up, and therefore I say to all BBC journalists - onwards with the revolution, comrades! Keep management on its knees!

At least then we’d get something decent to listen to in the morning.

  1. Marvellous.

I was listening to Radio 2 which was unaffected. At least I think it was. It really was very early.

  2. I agree. I do think "Today" is a good programme, but I just can’t cope with politicians that early in the morning which is why I never listen to it.

Too bad the strike seems to have affected the news programmes most rather than inane daytime TV. Perhaps we should call for some more targetted strikes.

Wonder if the issue with the news is it is the one thing you know isn’t a repeat.

Here, here. I rose to the unnexpected strike discovery, finding that the most palpable change was that I was fed I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue rather than Today. I’m quite happy with that :)

  5. me too. I’m sorry I haven’t a clue and just a minute totall ytransformed my start to the day - I was automaticallymuch more cheerful. Much better than waking up to John Humphries et al haranguing some politician (even if they deserve to be harangued)!
